Yup, you can absolutely skip walking the Freedom Trail. If you already know the location of the secret entrance (the Old North Church) and the password ('RAILROAD'), you can head straight there and dive into the action. Handy if you've already had your fair share of sightseeing in post-apocalyptic Boston and just wanna get down to business!

Just go straight to the Old North Church if you want to skip. Worked for me when I was in a hurry.

Technically, yes, you can skip it. But why would you want to miss out on such an immersive part of the game? Exploring the Freedom Trail adds a lot to the atmosphere and lore of Fallout 4.
