Yup, you totally can trade up red skins in CS:GO, but there's a catch. Red skins are the top tier in the trade-up contract system, so if you're hoping to trade up to a red skin, you gotta use pink skins. If you already got red and wanna see what happens, technically, you can't trade 'up' since red's the top tier. So, choose carefully which skins you're willing to part with!

Tried trading up reds once, thinking maybe I'd hit some hidden jackpot. Spoiler: doesn’t work like that. You can only trade up TO red skins, not beyond. So if you're holding onto those precious reds, just flex them in-game or look for direct trades with other players.
