Nope, once your explorers are out in the Wasteland, they don't use up any of the resources like food or water from your Vault. So, don't worry about your supplies dwindling while they're off on their adventure!

Actually, they don't! Once your dwellers set off to explore, they're on their own. Your vault's food and water levels stay put, which is pretty sweet considering how much those guys can eat.

They don't. Think of your explorers as being on a self-sustained road trip. Once they leave the vault, your stockpile of resources remains untouched. It's one of the few times you'll get a break from worrying about mouths to feed back home.
