CS:GO is free, my dude. Just download and start playing. But watch out, those skins can be tempting!

Nope, CS:GO went free-to-play back in December 2018. Before that, yes, you had to shell out some cash to get in on the action. But now, the only time you'll open your wallet is if you're craving some of those sweet, sweet skins or other cosmetic items. Oh, and there's a Prime Status upgrade you can snag for extra perks, but the base game? Totally free.
