Actually, you can still get drops without Prime, but it's kinda like showing up to a buffet after everyone else has eaten. Yeah, there's food, but the prime rib is gone. Get Prime if you want the good stuff.

Got drops without Prime just fine. Quantity over quality, but hey, a drop is a drop.

Nope, you don't NEED Prime status to get drops in CS:GO. However, Prime players do have a better chance at scoring some of the rarer drops like exclusive weapon skins and cases. So, if you're all about collecting those skins, Prime might be worth considering.
