ESEA ranks in CS:GO are a way to measure your skill and progress in the game. Basically, you start at a lower rank and as you win matches, you gain ELO points. Lose, and you're gonna drop some. The more ELO points you have, the higher your rank. It's pretty competitive, so you'll want to keep improving your game to climb up the ladder. Think of it as the game's way of saying, 'Hey, you're getting better, let's match you with tougher opponents.'
