Easy peasy! To rescue the Mechanic in Terraria, you gotta head down to the Dungeon. But hold up, you can't just waltz in there anytime you like. First, you need to defeat the Skeletron boss at the Dungeon's entrance. Once you've shown Skeletron who's boss, dive into the Dungeon and start exploring. Keep your eyes peeled for the Mechanic tied up and waiting to be saved. She can spawn pretty much anywhere in the Dungeon, so keep exploring. Once you find her, just talk to her, and voila, she's free and will move into a suitable house you've prepared back in your world. Happy building!

Just beat Skeletron and then rummage around the Dungeon till you stumble upon her. She's tied up, so talking to her will free her. EZ.

Honestly, I've always found the Mechanic in the weirdest spots of the Dungeon, so just keep looking everywhere. Also, bring some light because it's easy to miss her in the dark corners. First-hand experience, it took me longer than I'd like to admit to find her the first time.
