Hot take: Just focus on your own starter! The game's designed to be fully enjoyable with whichever one you pick, and there are tons of other awesome Pokémon to catch in Scarlet without sweating over starters you didn't choose.

I actually managed to get all the starters by trading with friends I met in online forums. It was super cool, cause we helped each other complete our Pokedexes. Make sure you've got something worthwhile to trade though, starters are high in demand!
