You can't sell all planes. Only personal aircraft stored in your hangar, and not all of them are eligible. Check before buying if you're planning on flipping planes for profit.

I tried to sell a plane once, and it was a bit of a hassle, but yeah, using the hangar's workshop is the way to go. Just make sure the plane is actually sellable. Some special or mission-specific planes can't be sold. Learned that the hard way and ended up with a collection instead.
