Overtime in CS:GO kicks in when a match ends in a tie, meaning both teams have the same score after all the regulation rounds are played. Here's the deal: each team starts with a set amount of money (usually $10,000) per player for the overtime rounds. Overtime is played in a MR3 format, meaning each team plays 3 rounds as Terrorists and 3 rounds as Counter-Terrorists. The first team to win 4 out of these 6 rounds wins the match. If it's still a tie after the first overtime, the process repeats until a winner is determined.

Short and sweet: Overtime in CS:GO means MR3, $10k starting cash per player. Win 4 out of 6 rounds, or keep trying if it's a tie.

In my experience, CS:GO overtime can turn a good match into an epic saga. That MR3 format means every round is do or die, and starting each player with $10k really shakes up the strategy. Nothing beats the tension of a match going into multiple overtimes, it's where legends are made!
