How does trade up work in CS:GO?

In CS:GO, trade up is pretty cool! You basically trade in 10 skins of the same quality (condition) for 1 skin of a higher quality. It's like a loot upgrade. You put in 10 'Nova | Candy Apples', and boom, you might get a rarer skin out of it. The new skin you get is randomly selected from a predefined set of skins that are one tier higher than the ones you traded in.

Trade up contract is a gamble, but a fun one! Used it a bunch and once traded up some cheap skins I never used for an awesome M4A1-S skin. It's all about those small victories, ya know?

Quick take: Trade up in CS:GO = 10 old skins for 1 new, better one. Gotta love those odds!
