Honestly, just get your friends to the closest rank possible. 5 ranks difference max. It's the sweet spot for not getting absolutely demolished or bored.

In CS:GO, you can queue with friends who are within 5 ranks of your own rank for matchmaking. So, if you're Gold Nova 1, you can play with anyone from Silver IV up to Master Guardian I. Keeps things competitive, but still lets you have fun with a wide range of friends!

2 ranks apart is the best. Keeps the game fair and competitive. Just my opinion though, based on playing a ton.
