To cap your FPS in CS:GO's console, first open the console with the `~` key (you might need to enable it in game settings first). Then, type `fps_max` followed by the number you want to cap your FPS at. For example, `fps_max 60` will cap your FPS at 60. Remember, setting it to 0 removes the cap entirely, allowing your FPS to go as high as possible.

Just set `fps_max` to whatever value feels right for you in the console. Don't listen to anyone saying you need uncapped FPS to play better. Smooth gameplay over everything!

For those who like their game smooth with no sudden drops, capping FPS is the way to go. I capped mine at 120 using `fps_max 120` in the console and it's been a game changer. Literally, smooth as butter.
