Catching Barboach in Pokemon Violet is all about knowing the right spot and having patience. First, make sure you're checking out areas around water, especially rivers and ponds. Barboach loves hanging out there. I'd recommend stocking up on some Dive Balls since they work better with Water-type Pokémon. Also, don't forget to use a Pokémon with the move 'False Swipe' to get Barboach's HP down without knocking it out. Happy fishing!

Caught mine while fishing in a small pond in East Province Area Three! Make sure it's raining; it seems like rain boosts their spawn rate. Just keep an eye on those ripples in the water - that's your clue Barboach is there.
