Changing your refresh rate in CS:GO isn't too tricky! One quick way is to right-click on your desktop, go to 'Display settings,' scroll down to 'Advanced display settings,' and then click on 'Display adapter properties for Display 1' (or whatever your main display is numbered). There, you can click on the 'Monitor' tab and choose your desired refresh rate from the drop-down menu. Remember, you gotta have a monitor that supports the refresh rate you're choosing, or else it's like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole!

For an in-game solution, you can set your launch options in CS:GO. Right-click CS:GO in your Steam library, go to 'Properties,' hit 'Set Launch Options,' and type in '-freq 144' (or your desired refresh rate) then hit OK. Boom, you're all set! This tells the game to run at that refresh rate, easy peasy lemon squeezy.

I changed my refresh rate following the in-game method, and oh boy, it was like upgrading from a bicycle to a sports car. My gameplay felt smoother, and my reactions times improved. It's definitely worth tinkering with if you're serious about upping your CS:GO game.

'Just play the game, bro.' Honestly, unless you're trying to go pro, messing with refresh rates won't make a world of difference. But hey, you do you!
