Honestly, just play with the default settings. Switching weapon positions is just a distraction. Focus on your aim and strategy instead!

I switched my weapon to the left side and it completely changed the game for me! Felt like it cleared up my vision on the right, giving me a slight edge in spotting enemies quicker.
