Setting up a 1v1 in CS:GO is a great way to sharpen your skills against a buddy! First, you'll need to create a private server or find an empty server online. Once you're in the game, open the console with `~` and type `mp_limitteams 1` and `mp_autoteambalance 0` to prevent auto-balancing. Then, set `mp_roundtime_defuse 1` or `mp_roundtime_hostage 1` depending on the map type for shorter rounds. Invite your friend, and you're good to go!

Honestly, just find a 1v1 community server. It's way easier than setting everything up yourself. You just search for '1v1' in the community server browser, and you'll find a bunch of ready-made servers with everything configured for you.

Don't bother setting up your own 1v1 matches. Community servers are where it's at. No setup required, and you get to test your skills against more than just your friend.
