From my experience, using Sheikah Slate's upgraded sensor to detect shrines makes the hunt way easier. You gotta complete certain quests to upgrade it, but it's totally worth it. It'll beep and blink when you're close to a shrine, guiding you right to it! Plus, experimenting with new powers and exploring every nook and cranny always leads to some shrine discoveries on the side.
