How to Fix Stick Drift on Your Nintendo Switch
Last updated
Ever found your Nintendo Switch character moving on their own as if they’ve got a mind of their own? That’s called ‘stick drift,’ and here’s how you can tackle it.
Stick drift happens when the joystick on your Nintendo Switch starts moving objects on the screen without you touching it. Let’s figure out how to fix this sneaky problem.
Quick Fix for Stick Drift
The quickest way to address stick drift involves recalibrating your controllers. Go to the System Settings on your Switch, select “Controllers and Sensors,” and then choose “Calibrate Control Sticks.” Follow the on-screen instructions, and see if that solves the issue.
If recalibrating doesn’t do the trick, you might need to clean the joystick. Using a can of compressed air, gently blow around the base of the joystick. Sometimes, dust and debris cause the drift.
