First thing, make sure your graphics settings are optimized for performance. Lower the resolution, and turn down visual effects like shadows and shaders. They eat up FPS like nobody's business. Also, keep your drivers updated, especially your graphics card driver. Outdated drivers can really drag your performance down.

If you're serious about squeezing out every frame, consider upgrading your hardware. A better graphics card or more RAM can make a world of difference. But if that's not in the budget, try overclocking your existing hardware. Just be careful not to fry anything!
