Pro tip for going 'Away' without anyone bothering you: Change your in-game status AND disable party invitations. This way, even if you're actually playing, no one can send you invites or messages expecting you to join their game. Been doing this for months when I need to focus on solo queue or just don't feel like dealing with invites.

To appear 'away' in Valorant, you can just set your status to 'Away' directly in the Riot client before you launch the game. Open the Riot client, click on your profile icon near the bottom right, and you should see the option to change your status. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!
