How to set a custom CS:GO resolution
Best answer

Setting a custom res in CS:GO is a breeze! Right-click on the game in your Steam library, go to 'Properties', then 'Set Launch Options'. Type in '-w [width] -h [height]', replacing [width] and [height] with your desired resolution numbers. So, if you're aiming for 1440x900, it should look like '-w 1440 -h 900'. Make sure you hit 'OK', and bam, you're all set with your custom resolution!

Honestly, just stick to the recommended settings. Custom resolutions can cause more headaches than they're worth. Why fix something that isn't broken?

Just edit your autoexec.cfg file. Add the lines 'mat_setvideomode [width] [height] 0' for fullscreen or 'mat_setvideomode [width] [height] 1' for windowed mode. Replace '[width]' and '[height]' with the resolution you want. This method is a bit old school but works like a charm!

I've been playing CS:GO with a custom resolution for years because my monitor is an odd size. The launch options method works every time. It's pretty easy to switch back too if you don't like it.
