Honestly, I wouldn't bother. Just customize your settings in-game. Much easier and you know exactly what you're changing.

Oh, it's pretty easy! First, you wanna find a config you like - there are tons online. Next, download that file. Now, navigate to your CS:GO folder, usually it's in the Steam folder under 'steamapps/common/Counter-Strike Global Offensive/csgo/cfg'. Once you're there, just drop the config file into this folder. Finally, launch CS:GO, open the console with the tilde key (~), and type 'exec nameofyourconfig.cfg'. And boom, you're all set!
