Honestly, why bother setting up a 1v1 when you can test your skills in ranked? That's the real challenge.

Settin' up a 1v1 in CS:GO is pretty straightforward. First, you gotta launch the game and invite your friend to a lobby. Then, select 'Play' > 'Play with Friends'. Change the game settings to 'Private Match' and choose a map. Once in-game, open the console (you might need to enable this in the game settings) and type 'mp_limitteams 1' and 'mp_autoteambalance 0' to prevent auto-balancing. Then, use 'mp_roundtime_defuse 60' (or whatever time limit you want) to set round time. Finally, type 'mp_restartgame 1' to apply changes. There ya go, now you're ready to show who's boss!

Quick and dirty: Invite friend to lobby, pick a map, use console commands to set teams to 1v1, and boom - you're dueling!
