How to Pickpocket in Fallout 4

Pickpocketing in Fallout 4 is all about being sneaky and having a good amount of the pickpocketing skill. First, make sure you're crouched and hidden from your target's view, then sneak up behind them. Press the action button when you're close enough and you'll see their inventory. The higher your pickpocket skill, the more likely you are to succeed without getting caught. Also, lighter items are easier to steal than heavier ones, so maybe don’t go for that Fat Man right off the bat.

Hot take: don't bother with pickpocketing in Fallout 4. Just grind for caps and buy what you need. Pickpocketing can be a quick way to make enemies and, unless you're really into that play style, it's not as rewarding as looting and questing. Just my two cents!

I've been playing Fallout 4 since it dropped, and pickpocketing is one of my fav things to do. The key is to save your game before you try it, just in case you get caught. Upgrading the Pickpocket perk under the Perception skill tree makes a huge difference, especially levels that reduce your chances of getting caught. And always, always stay crouched and out of sight. If you're seen, it's game over.
