Oh, those big tree stumps can be quite the sight on your farm in Stardew Valley! To remove these large stumps, you'll need to upgrade your starting axe to a Steel Axe. You can do this at the Blacksmith in town, but remember, it requires some resources: 5 Iron Bars and 5,000 Gold. Once you've got your Steel Axe, just walk up to any large stump and give it a few good whacks, and voilà, it's gone, leaving you some valuable wood in its place.
