Rare doesn't always mean valuable. I found a super rare card once and got all excited, only to find out it was worth like, 5 bucks on a good day. Make sure to check recent sales or auctions to see what people are actually willing to pay for it, not just what sellers are asking.

First thing's first, check the rarity symbol at the bottom of your card! Common cards have a circle, uncommon ones have a diamond, and rare cards sport a star. Foil or holographic cards are usually worth more, especially if they're in mint condition. Don't forget to look up your card in an online database or use price guide apps to get a current market value. Condition matters a lot, so even a rare card in poor shape might not fetch much.
