You can't directly set or change your name in Subway Surfers like in some other games. Your leaderboard name comes from your Google Play Games or Game Center (for iOS devices) nickname. So, if you want to change your name as it appears in Subway Surfers, you'll need to change your nickname in your Google Play Games or Game Center account settings.

Nah, you can't change your name inside the app. Gotta do it through Google Play or Game Center. Easy peasy.

I tried changing my name in the game settings once, thinking I'm missing something obvious. Nope, turns out you have to go through Game Center on my iPhone. Changed my Game Center nickname and voila, new name in Subway Surfers!
