Nah, all these steps? Just keep Curie around, the quest will pop up when it's time. Don't overthink it.

To kick off 'Emergent Behavior' in Fallout 4, you gotta get Curie, the Miss Nanny robot, as a companion first. After you've spent enough time adventuring together and earned her trust, she'll ask for your help to become more human. This quest triggers after you've completed her personal quest, 'Hole in the Wall,' where you find her in Vault 81. Make sure you've also got the companion quest 'Dangerous Minds' wrapped up, as it's a prerequisite. Then, find Doctor Amari in the Memory Den of Goodneighbor to get the ball rolling!

Just chat up Curie! Once you've done enough quests and she likes you enough, she'll start 'Emergent Behavior'. Gotta have 'Dangerous Minds' done too. Simple as that.
