Trading in Pokemon Violet and Scarlet is super easy and a great way to fill up your Dex or get your fave Pokémon from a friend. Just hit the Y button to open the Y-Comm, select 'Link Trade,' and then either set a Link Code you and your buddy can use or let the system find you a trading partner randomly. Make sure you're both online, or it won't work!

Not sure why you'd trade when catching 'em all yourself is the real challenge. But hey, to each their own.

Honestly, trading is kinda the same as it's always been, but make sure your internet's decent. There's nothing worse than a trade failing cause your connection drops!
