How to Trade in Pokémon Scarlet Offline

No WiFi? No problem! Just get close to your friend (like, physically close, because you're going offline, remember?), set up a local wireless connection between your Nintendo Switch consoles, and start trading away. It's that simple.

Trading Pokémon in Scarlet offline is a bit of a throwback to the old days – you'll need two things: a friend who's got either Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet, and two Nintendo Switch consoles. Once you've got your buddy and your Switches ready, just fire up your game, hit the Y button to open the Y-Comm, select 'Link Trade', and then choose 'Set Link Code'. Make sure you both enter the same Link Code so the game pairs you up. Then, it's trading time!

Can't. Gotta trade online or have a friend close by with their own Switch. It's the 21st century, folks.
