Just a heads-up, make sure your inventory is set to 'Public' in your Steam profile settings. Can't trade if your friend can't see what you got!

Honestly? Just sell your stuff on the Steam Market and let your friend buy it. Direct trades are too much of a hassle with all those security checks.
