Turning on the FPS counter in CS:GO is pretty straightforward. All you need to do is enable the developer console from the game settings. Head over to Settings, then Game Settings, and set 'Enable Developer Console (~)' to 'Yes.' After that, press the tilde key (~) during gameplay to open the console and type 'cl_showfps 1' to get your FPS displayed on the screen. If you want to turn it off, just type 'cl_showfps 0.' Easy peasy!

Honestly, Steam's built-in FPS counter is better. Just go to Steam settings, In-Game tab, and check the 'In-game FPS counter' box. Choose where you want the FPS to be displayed and you're good. It's less hassle and works for all games, not just CS:GO.
