It's an update, not a new game. Valve called it CS2 but it's basically a massive overhaul of CS:GO. Think of it as putting a turbo in your car; it's still the same car, just way better.

Totally an update. Anyone saying it's a new game hasn't been paying attention. CS2 = CS:GO's glow up.
