Yup, same developer, Digital Extremes, and some shared concepts. Dark Sector walked so Warframe could sprint, slide, and bullet jump!

Absolutely! Dark Sector was like a prototype for Warframe. Digital Extremes developed both and you can see the inspirations, especially with Hayden Tenno, the main character in Dark Sector, which led to the Tenno warriors in Warframe.
