Totally disagree with the idea that there's any real variety. You know what you're getting into with the theme, sure, but every calendar of the same theme has the same Pops. So, 'random'? Not in the slightest.
From personal experience, I can say there's nothing random about the Pops in the Advent Calendars. Got a Marvel one last year, and a friend of mine bought the same. We ended up with the same figures. Still cool, though, because it was all about that Marvel goodness!
