Nah, Pokemon cards are not your average paper product because they're coated with plastic for durability. This coating makes them tricky to recycle in the traditional paper recycling stream. Best bet is to find a special recycling program that accepts mixed materials, but those are pretty rare. So, collecting or repurposing them might be a more eco-friendly option!

Short answer: nope. They've got a plastic layer, so you can't just toss them in with your newspapers.

Definitely a bummer, but Pokemon cards aren't recyclable through conventional means because of their plastic coating. I tried reaching out to a local recycling center, and they confirmed it. Ended up giving my doubles to a friend's kid and felt pretty good about it!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
