Yeah, Lu Bu can die just like any other character. Just make sure he's not doing something stupid!
No hero is immortal! Lu Bu can definitely die in Total War: Three Kingdoms. You just need to beat him in battle or execute him if he gets captured. Trust me, I've lost him a few times and it's heartbreaking!
Of course he can die! He's strong but not godlike. Keep an eye on him or you'll be leaderless.
