I tried it myself with a 120Hz monitor, but the Xbox One S just couldn't keep up. 60fps is really its sweet spot.

The Xbox One S can technically support 120Hz output for certain games if you have a compatible TV, but don't expect it to actually run games at 120fps smoothly. It's more of a hardware limit!
