Actually, while you can't have multiple pets in the traditional sense (like several dogs or cats), mods exist for PC players that let you bend the rules. But without mods, you're stuck with just one pet, be it a cat or a dog.

Nope, you can only have one pet in Stardew Valley. You choose between a cat or a dog at the start of the game, and that's your furry companion for life. No pet hoarding allowed here!
