I tried this myself and you can't use V-Bucks to gift the Battle Pass. Gotta use a credit card or PayPal.

Just buy a V-Bucks card and give that as a gift instead. Easier and the recipient can choose what they want.

Yeah, gifting the Battle Pass requires actual money. V-Bucks only work for personal purchases like skins and emotes.
