Friendly fire used to be a thing in Fortnite, but they nixed it to stop all those accidental (or not so accidental) teammate 'oopsies.'

Yes, Fortnite did have friendly fire in the early stages, but they removed it in early 2018 to make the game more accessible and less frustrating.

I remember getting downed by my own squad back in the day! They removed friendly fire in 2018 to avoid those moments.
