Yeah, you need Xbox Live Gold for online multiplayer in Forza Horizon 5. Single-player doesn't require it.

From my experience, single-player works without Xbox Live. But trust me, online multiplayer is worth getting Gold for!

Nope, you can cruise around solo without Xbox Live. To hit the online tracks, though, you gotta have Gold.
