Nah, it's not like traditional Source. Respawn did some serious wizardry to make it work for Apex. So, yes, but actually no.

Absolutely, it's Source engine with upgrades! Makes you appreciate how flexible Source really is, able to go from Portal to a high-octane battle royale.

Yep, Apex Legends runs on a modified version of the Source engine. It's the same engine Valve used for games like Half-Life 2 and CS:GO but tweaked by Respawn to handle a massive battle royale experience.

Source engine is the backbone, but think of Apex's version as Source 2.0. Enhanced for that smooth, stylish gameplay we love!

If you're a Apex Legends player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
