Hot take: Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live are two separate subscriptions. You don't need Xbox Live to use Game Pass, simple as that.

I have Game Pass for PC, and I don’t need Xbox Live Gold to play any of the games in the library. So yes, it works!

Actually, you only need Xbox Live Gold for online multiplayer gaming. Game Pass alone gives you access to the games library without it!
