Nah, I play MK11 on the Switch all the time without internet. Story mode and local battles work just fine offline.

You need internet for stuff like Towers of Time and multiplayer, but the story mode is totally playable offline.

Nope, Mortal Kombat 11 on the Switch has offline modes, so you don't need to be online to play the main game!
