Nope, Steam's Big Picture Mode can't directly launch Epic Store games. But you can still play Subnautica in Big Picture Mode by adding it as a non-Steam game!
I've done this myself. Open Steam, go to 'Games', then 'Add a Non-Steam Game', find Subnautica's .exe file, and you're good to go!
