The secret sauce is to act fast! Once you hit 'Delete for Everyone', it's like the message never existed (poof!). If you're trying to delete old messages, there's no way to make them disappear for others.
Just use the 'Delete for Everyone' option. But if you've missed the time window, only 'Delete for Me' will work. Happy deleting!
