How Can You Tell If a Pokemon Card Is Shadowless?

First off, you gotta flip that card over and check the right side of the image. If it's missing the shadow that's usually there, bam, you've got yourself a shadowless card! It's like the Pokemon is standing in some super harsh, midday sun with no shade in sight. Also, check the date at the bottom - first edition shadowless cards are from the early days, so if you see 1999 without the drop shadow, it's a solid find!

Shadowless Pokemon cards? Easy peasy - look for no shadow on the right side of the Pokemon picture and make sure the printing date is from the OG days. If it's missing those shadows, congrats! You're holding onto a piece of Pokemon history.

Honestly, the whole shadowless hype is overblown. Sure, they're old, but a card's a card. Just play and enjoy the game!

It's all about the shadows, or lack thereof. Shadowless Pokemon cards are a big deal because they're from the first print run. No shadow on the right side, early print date, and you've hit the jackpot. It's that simple.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
