Friends gone? Just a classic case of the disappearing act. Seriously though, they might have stopped playing or disconnected their own game from Facebook. Not much to do except recruit more friends!
Had this happen to me once. Turned out, I accidentally logged into a different Facebook account in the game settings. Make sure you're logged into the right FB account that's linked with your Homescapes friends.
Check your privacy settings on Facebook. If you've recently changed them, it might be blocking Homescapes from accessing your friends list. Adjust your settings to allow the app permissions and you should see your friends reappear. :)
